Why writing at all?
Why bother at all to flood this world with even more content?
It all starts with reading#
When being a developer - you read a lot. The amount of articles and content we're processing is quite noticeable. There's no other way to stay in the loop.
In the IT industry, we're generously gifted with basically all the knowledge there is. If one wants to excel in a specific area, usually, there is a ton of materials helping to do exactly that. And that's a blessing! But also a bit of a curse...
What would I bring to the table?#
If there's everything already there, what would anyone care about yet another piece on some topic?
Yeah, those thoughts are the main blockers. If there are materials where I gathered my knowledge and learned something new, doesn't it mean that's easy enough for others?
The Knowledge Gap#
Wherever you are on your road - the others are in different places. And while your thoughts might be useless for some, others can save a lot of time reading them. You never know which of these obvious things you do are not that obvious for someone, so if you'd write that down for someone's gain? I'd say - worth it.
And if someone reads it, share another perspective, and I will also learn more? Well...
So what can you find here? Depends on where you are on that road...
You're just staring#
A lot of stuff is confusing; googling you're problem brought you here? I hope I can help you with that.
You're an experienced developer#
You probably have a lot of stuff figured out. Favourite tools, protocols or even git workflow. It's good to have that, as long as you've think that through. But if I can at least encourage you to give it a second thought - that's all I'm aiming for.
Question everything#
I watched the House M.D. many times, and that's what stuck to my head the most. Ask questions, be curious, you learn when you're able to understand, and you're able to understand when you're able to explain. Let's see how it goes.
